Mindboggling video shows how post-colonization life of the Solar System would be like

The mind-boggling video, made by digital artist Erik Wernquist is a vision of humanity’s expansion into the Solar System, based on scientific ideas and concepts of what our future in space might look like if it ever happens. The locations depicted in the film are digital recreations of actual places in the Solar System, built from real photos and map data where available.

If the present state of the Earth, or rather that of the human civilization that inhabits it makes you want to escape to another world, you ought to know that the most brilliant minds on the planet are currently advocating and working hard on figuring out how to do it.

Stephen Hawking has said that if we want to survive as a species, the only alternative is to find a way to conquer other planets, expanding the limits of the human race.

Professor Stephen Hawking believes that at the rate the human race is advancing, we could DESTROY ourselves within the next 100 years. It is imperative –according to Professor Hawking— that the human race conquers other worlds in the cosmos. During his numerous comments, Hawking pointed out that while he is ultimately an optimist, he thinks that mankind has the power to overcome various potential problems that humanity may face in the near future.

Elon Musk has also set sights towards other worlds as he and his company SpaceX are working hard on revolutionary ways that could help us travel across our solar system and outer space.

But have you ever wondered about how would life even look like if the human race were to conquer the entire solar system?

A short film made by digital artist Erik Wernquist gives us an idea of what the epoch after the colonization of the Solar System would look like.

Wanderers is a vision of humanity’s expansion into the Solar System, based on scientific ideas and concepts of what our future in space might look like if it ever happens. The locations depicted in the film are digital recreations of actual places in the Solar System, built from real photos and map data where available.

Without any apparent story, other than what you may fill in by yourself, the idea of the film is primarily to show a glimpse of the fantastic and beautiful nature that surrounds us on our neighboring worlds – and above all, how it might appear to us if we were there.

The journey through different human outposts beyond Earth takes less than 4 minutes, but we promise it will virtually take you to places you’ve never imagined even exist.

If the video alone isn’t awesome enough (ITS AWESOME), the voice of Carl Sagan reading the book A Pale Blue Point will keep you company through the short clip. It really makes us want to see more of it.

Please note that the various planets, and moons represented in the film are digital recreations constructed, mostly, from photos and real data obtained during different NASA missions.
