2.56 X-Class Flare erupted from the Sun today February 16th, 2024 and it appears the coronal mass ejection (CME) will narrowly miss us, though that remains to be seen. @StefanBurns please subscribe ✅

NOTE - We'll find out the likelihood of any sort of CME impact here on Earth once the LASCO coronagraph imagery is available. It does appear from the SDO imagery that a thin "shockwave" does propagate out from that flare in a more Earth-direct manner, but it doesn't appear very dense.
